1973 hurst olds restoration under way

body shop finally started stripping the H/O last week and the rust under the top was better than expected, the main body has been taken down to bare metal along with the top and last i saw it they were shooting the primer. I have a few questions im hoping you guys can answer, as far as replacement seat covers and tops who is the best place to go through to get those? stock wheels have been purchased to take the place of the cragars and a NOS olds hood emblem was found. heres a pic of how it was, ill try and post pics along the build process, thanks

VERY NICE, vista vent top..
Seat covers are very expensive and they don't match exactly, I believe they used the Chevelle seats as a pattern.
The Top you may also have difficulties because of the Hurst window, although, maybe the Supreme model top can be used...??
Others may chime in......Joe B????

the engine runs perfect, has around 110000 miles and the lady that had it kept reciepts of EVERYTHING that was done maintenance wise, doesnt smoke , tick , or stutter, very smooth. for the interior and top the guy we are dealing with is goin to buy the material and actually make all the seat covers and the top

The seats and roof turned out great, there was a hold up due to material being on backorder but he matched the seats and top perfect with the correct material, dropped the car off for him to install everything friday so I should get back in a few days then ill post some pics. Only thing left is to clean up the engine compartment and find it a new home

yea I remember, honestly I don't think id let it go for 14k now with all that's been done, I wouldn't have a problem holding on to this one for a while, after all its only gonna become more rare

Nice pictures, looks like the car turned out great. The 73's were sharp cars, especially in that color. The place that did your seats looks like they did a great job. Were you happy with their work and pricing? I'm in NY and I am looking to get some interior work done on a car and looking for recommendations.

thank you, im very happy with the work, it would have been done a lot faster but some of the material took awhile to order, for the top, front and rear seats, and carpet kit cost me around $1400

Car looks good. I'm glad to see it saved. I think these cars are under appreciated.

I'm not sure where you are but I've had some work done by these guys but nothing big. They are a two man shop. I was happy with them.
