I can't find information specific to the 69 H/O for this question in my chassis service manual, so here goes.
From a cold start, with the choke closed, what is a typical idle speed for the H/O before it warms up? Mine wants to start around 1400, but generally jumps up to 2000-2200 and won't kick back down with a little throttle. That seems high to me, but before I go randomly backing off the fast idle adjustment screw, I thought I should have an idea of the range I am shooting for. It idles great at around 800 when it is warmed up. I just got it back so I may need some more time with it to get a better feel for how it runs on initial start up. I haven't had a working old car in 20+ years, so this is like starting all over for me. Thanks for the help. |
