I was cleaning 1972 hurst olds today , and noticed this date on the underside of hood fir the first time. According to broadcast card the order date was 3/30 and production date 4/06. My question is what does this date represent. Date reads 3-27-72

Could it be the date the part was made available to be placed in assembly inventory?

That would have to be my best guess also . While I have seen many markings , this would be the first time I have seen date .

I have seen similar markings on other hoods. Didn't pay enough attention to take pictures or write them down though.
