Valve Cover Breathers / OAI
Has anyone restored / painted the valve cover breathers and tubes for the OAI ? Did it before for the single breather on the Toronado and just used solvent through the breather filter material and then shot air through it, dried it, blasted the old paint off and re-painted. Is that how others have done it ?
The filter material seems to be metal so I wasn't too concerned about soaking it in solvent to get all the carbon out. Plan on doing the (2) breathers and tubes on the 442 next week and just wanted others opinions and ideas...

I soaked mine in a gallon of carb cleaner for a day. Then ran water through them and then brake cleaner. Used compressed air to blow out the brake cleaner. I think the carb cleaner got it all out because the brake cleaner was very clear when it was blowing through.

Didn't even think of carb cleaner ! Probably works much better than the solvent tank. Had some minor smoking when I pre-heated the breathers in the oven before cooling and powder coating but they turned out like new. The reason I asked in the first place was to get better ideas on how to do things and I thank you !
