' 69 Cutlass ....Today I sand blasted some parts...... what color should the brake drums be ? I'm thinkin, a gray 'cast metal; color. What about the heat shield around the exhaust manifold ? Maybe a dull silver like 'new metal ' would be ? or semi gloss (satin) black ?

Not sure about 69 but in 72 the drums were fogged semi gloss black only if the SSII or SSIII wheels were installed.

I think '69 (& '68s) drums were 'cast' color unless the car was ordered with SS wheels; then just the face of the drum was painted black.

Not sure about the heat shield. My 68's are rust colored with no hint of their original color, but according to these pics...

intresting link, thanks....I was thinking today......what color was used under the hood ? I assume it was Satin or semi gloss black ( red car ) If so, was inside the trunk lid black also ?

Inside of trunk lid should be body color.
