I've had a few 60's GM cars so I'm pretty familiar with the cowl tag and the info they contain. I wanted to check it out on the 64 Starfire I just got, but I can't find the thing.


I looked in the 64 service manual (picture) and it says that it should be on the right side for my body series. Did these cars have a cowl tag? it's a very original car so I would be surprised if it was missing.

These cars most definitely had a cowl tag. Is yours possibly covered in grime? It isn't unheard of for them to be removed, although why anyone would do it is hard to figure.

Duh.... I found it. I simply was not expecting to find it on the flat surface.
Not much there I didn't know but nice to see it confirms the color and interior.
