72 cutlass supreme springs
not sure whats going on with the new front coil springs i installed ,but ive got everything on the car except the hood and still cant get the shocks installed seems way too stiff .i ordered 350 springs w/ac from rock auto .i did eliminate the ac but wanted a little stiffer spring.the new springs are physically the same height as the originals.ive double checked that they are seated properly .i have new tubular a-arms not sure if that changes things .i fear i will have to change them out was hoping for some insight thanks

I'll have to get back to you when I get home I'll take some measurements .right now I have 8.5 inches between the top of the inner fender and top of the tire not sure what that measurement would be on stock ride height but seems excessive to me .before I installed the fenders and core support there wasn't enough of the shock shaft sticking up to get the nut started

finally got back to the olds mother nature threw a wrench in the works with snow i had to deal with .i loosened the a arm bolts and it seemed to do the trick ,the car is now bouncing on the springs pretty good ,i will double check the torque specs and try to install the shocks .thanks for the help i should have left the bolts loose until after the motor went in .it always helps to talk it out with other members

i did get the shocks bolted in and to answer your question eric after getting the top shank nut of the shock just started with the control arms loose and car on its wheels after bouncing it i had about 1 1/4 inches hanging down does that sound about right ?
