Question How to ship an engine block??

I'm gonna try to sell an engine block, be it on ebay or where ever. I was wondering if anyone out there has sold one, and what you did to ship it. It's a 455 block. I'm assuming it weighs a good 150 to 175lbs or better. Do I take it to USPS, call UPS or FedEx. Do I need to put it on some sort of pallet?? Need some direction on this issue.

The only way you can ship the block in by a carrier. UPS will not handle the weight. Have to stap to a pallett and get to a trucking company. There are Web sites for trucking carriers that will help you on the interned

Good luck.

Most people on Ebay dont even bother with shipping stuff that heavy, they usually just offer local pickup. If it is just an engine block it might make things a little easier, I guess it just depends on if you want to go through the hassle.
