63 Olds Super 88

Good morning to all..I am searching for a vehicle that we had when I was younger. I have not found even one with the equipment that this 88 had. It was a 2 door hardtop with bucket seats and an automatic floor shift with a console. Has anyone seen one of these, or could you point me in the right direction? I can't imagine that there are none out there at all. Thanks in advance. This one was white on white, with black inserts in the seats.

Sounds like what you had was a Starfire. Super 88 was not offered with bucket seats in '63.

That is the mystery of this car. It was a super 88. I can't explain it, but I know we were the second owner of it. It was around 1966 when dad bought it.

I've heard rumors that "you could get anything you wanted, if you knew the right people." from GM back in the 50's and 60's. That super 88 was probably "one of one".
Bucket seats in an 88 were not a regular production option in any of the sales literature. And there is no reference to them in the 63 master parts catalog.
The pieces did exist however, as Starfire parts could have been used.

That's what I was afraid of. I told dad to keep that car. He had a habit of buying this guys cars when he got rid of them. Normally he switched every couple of years. After the Olds, dad bought a 68 Buick Electra, from the same guy, which was also loaded to the hilt, but didn't match up to the looks of the 88. Naturally, we kept that Buick forever. Thanks for the info Charlie.

You could probably "re-create" that car with a Super 88 2dr Holiday , and Starfire buckets, console, and steering column.

That's a thought. Looks like you have a 63 there.
