1965 Starfire
I have a few questions about a car I recently purchased
Are the coupe and convertible doors the same? Are the exhaust pipe outlets available (quarter panel exit)? Does anyone make the seatcovers for these cars? Regards, Tad |

I believe you can order generic seat covers for your car from companies like Kanter. Of course, this will just be a standard street rod tuck and roll.

Just how rare are these cars? I located another Blue green 65 Starfire conv. 4spd car 2.5 hours away from me. The car is in a body shop getting restored.

Starfires are still around, and I see some for sale online regularly. However they are far from ubiquitous. They are rare enough that finding some Starfire-specific parts can be impossible.
If it helps any, here are the 60's-era Starfire production numbers I scraped off the internet: 1961 (convertible only): 7600 1962 (coupe): 34,839 1962 (convertible) : 7149 1963 (coupe): 21,148 1963 (convertible): 4401 1964 (coupe): 13,753 1964 (convertible): 2401 1965 (coupe): 13,034 1965 (convertible): 2226 1966 (coupe only): 13,019 So you can see that production decreased after 1962. Just to put those in perspective, there were 187,097 Cutlasses and 1,046,514 Chevy Impallas sold in 1965 (according to Wikipedia). |
