Fire extingushers
Always keep one hand. In your shop, garage, and the trunk of your classic car. I've had to use one a few times on the farm and I can honestly say it's one of the best investments ever.
Just a word of advice.

I agree, I had a buddy whose rear brake drum siezed on him and it started the car on fire, no extinguisher = no more car. It was a 57 t-bird in immaculate shape and all he could do was watch and cry. He now has an extinguisher in every car (he has 5 collector cars) and won't go anywhere without one in the vehicle.

Make sure thy are A B C extinguishers so you can put out any type of fire. Extinguishers are about $30 at Wal Mart for a small one.

This is an old thread, but I just came across it and thought I'd add a comment. I bought a small extinguisher that fits nicely under the seat of my Cutlass for instant access. That way I don't lose time fumbling with the key to open the trunk (particularly since it's on the same ring as the ignition key and I've got an auto trans).
