wiring up engine

i just bought a 1986 cutlass 442 and need help wiring up the stater the person i bought the car form had took out the engine but did a bad job at it all the wires to the starter had been cut i need help finding what color are the wiring going to the starter any help would be great

I am not sure about the colors, a good FSM would be invaluable to you. I do know that you have the primary wire from the battery/alternator which is prabably about 6 or 8 gauge to the starte motor and then the smaller wire from the ignition to the starter solenoid.
