91 Olds Cutlass Calais Intl.
Hello. Wondering if anyone can give me an opinion on a 91 Olds Cutlass Calais International (2 door). Is it something that would be worth having for a turnaround sale for parts or ???

Heck yes! It's a nice car. I had an earlier version of this car with the 'tech 4' engine. The only thing ever went wrong with it was the safety lockout on the clutch pedal and the darn thing wouldn't start 20 minutes before I had to be at work. Other than that it's an excellent driving car with good fuel economy and can get into tight parking places
The 'tech4' is not the same as your Quad 4 - which I believe is called the Iron Duke.
Try using the 'search' option at the top of the web page for more tech info on this car and the Quad 4. I believe it has been discussed several times.
You can also visit or join the Quad 4 forums to get more info: http://www.quad4forums.com/forums/

i love those cars. it was a little better on the skid pad than the Quad 442 because of the 16 inch lo profile tires. for those engines to be fun you really need the 5 speed. you can add the W-41 cams and it will be real torque but the automatic may not hold up. if you are looking at it as a parts car i think the wheels and ground affects are all very worth saving if they are any good. the quad 4 hooked to an automatic i don't think would have the good head for performance but i am not sure. if you need Quad 4 info i can hook you up with the right guy.

There's a whole community and on-line forum for the N-body cars. I have to say that the squared-off roofline is an acquired taste. I previously owned a 1985 Calais Pace Car replica with the (POS) Iron Duke pushrod motor and now own a 1990 Grand Am that I got for free only because I wanted the Q4 for another project, but I've been driving the car as-is for a year now and it's a great little beater. Even my (non-motorhead) wife likes it. I'm actually having second thoughts about tearing it apart for the other project (like THAT'S going to happen anytime soon in any case... ).

Looks a little on the rough side, is that rust through the metal or just surface? What's up with the 'flares' over the front wheels? Never seen that before. The interior looks nice though. I've had to deal with rust in the past and it cost me an arm&leg, that's why I can only type with one hand and hop around everywhere I go. I'll never buy another car with visible rust again. Hopefully someone out there with metal skills will buy it and save it.
Good luck.

that is part of why i sold the 91 Quad 442 W-41. parts are next to impossible to find. that is why i ask if the ground affects and wheels are good on that one. those are more rare than some of the W-41 parts. it don't make them any more valuable but would be very good to save them. not many people know how fun those cars are. that car with good quality tires will road handle curves like it is on rails. manual transmissions are more fun for that though.
