I pulled the 350 4BBL out of my Cutlass. The engine ran but had 150M miles on it. Ended up finding a 70 350 that already had machine work done to it so I have it on the stand instead.

I would like to get the 71 out of the garage to make a little room but shipping is a killer and I expect a local sale wont yield much of a return.

My initial thoughts are to sell the #7 heads online and then scrap the rest. What do you guys think?

I wouldnt get rid of it. If sometime in the future you in need of an engine you already have it. Unless you really need the space, keep it. Nothing wrong with it maybe a few miles on it otherwise is it in good shape?

Kinda sad, but yes if you need the space pull parts off it and scrap the rest. But don't stop with the heads, pull the oil pan, balancer, timing cover, etc. most everything but the short block can be sold and shipped without too much trouble and expense. Also, if the crank is drilled for a pilot bearing it might be worth offering that here. I know one member that's looking for one and he's much closer to you than he is to me

The engine ran fine. I drove it on and off the trailer when I bought it and in and out of the shop when they were hanging the quarters. The only reason I didn't rebuild it was cost to machine vs. cost of the donor engine.

I am limited on space. I have a one garage with some side space. Have my Chevelle over at my parents house just to make room for the Olds.
I do have a shed up on the top of my property. If I tear it down I may be able to get the pieces up there. Have to see what a bare block weighs...

The crank is not drilled but the one that I bought is . Nice cause it gives me a 4-SPD option in the future.

I know but I can't keep it in the garage and the only way I could possibly get it up to the shed would be in pieces. Up there I have some space.
