Bill Mitchell because he had to do w/ the "Stingray." But because you don't know names, doesn't mean that you aren't a "car guy." Some people who know names, don't know how to degree a cam either. So, who's not the car guy?

Harley Davidson?
That was two different people.
I know who Harley Earl is, have since I was a baby, my first words.
If you don't you're just plain ignorant and not a real car guy.

Heh. One of the hotrodder boys here is named Harley Davidson Tucker. Yah, his parents both loved Harleys, but Davidson is actually his mama's family name. Everything just fit together. Put "Tucker" in the mix and it's a name that was destined for a gearhead boy.
It's just that Harley likes Japanese bikes. His daddy says he has to be the milkman's kid...

What I was driving at (pun indeed), he designed the 1966 Toronado and 1995-99 Aurora (the Aurora was his last project before he retired). I heard it alot, that the 1ts generation Aurora look like a 1966-67 Toronado from the back.
The was a three -part interview the the Front-Wheel Driver, (newsletter for the Toronado Owners Assication) on David North.
Did you know the Ford folks "stole" desinging cues, from the Toronado, and use it for the Mercury Cougar!

I am not surprised that some of the younger members (probably includes some of you into your 40's) don't know who Harley Earl was. Personally, I don't think that keeps you from being car guys. On the other hand, some of the more senior members (I am being polite to myself, Jamesbro and Citcapp and others) would not be car guys if we did not know who he was. I think his Buick Y-Job was one of his best cars. He drove that car for several years. I would love to see that one.
