scratching my head....
So, reassembly of the '68 begins. I am currently putting my dash back together, and, aside from some of the screw/bolt positions for the dash pad, I have to wonder what they were thinking when they designed the a/c vent screw locations.
From the looks of it, I need a 1/4" open end wrench that is about 3" long. If they simply reversed the screw, there would have been no issue as long as the screw didn't hit the vent bottom. In any events, I figure people may want to chime in with other GM design 'delights'. And if anyone has a tip on how to easily remove these stupid vents, let me know.

So this is what I have to look forward to when I get into my '69 with A/C! Thank goodness the '68 has the good ol' "4-55 top down" A/C! I have yet to go where you are now venturing! Tom, thanks for the heads-up on where to get exhaust systems! Best Regards, Randy C.

Randy, the key is a 1/4" nut driver. You take out the center bolts that attach the vent to the housing. From there, there's easy access to the housing bolts. Took me a bit but I figured it out.
