Is this carburetor original

Hi fellows - how can I tell if my carburetor is original? I see the #7040253 then 1307 on it, not sure how I can research originality so any help is appreciated. I am attaching a picture with the number.
If original I would like so sell it so let me know what is the ball park value for something like this. Thanks.

sorry for the dumb question but what does Restamp mean? Do you mean someone actually stamped over these numbers?

thanks for the reply.

Yes in the picture it has a mark after the last number which does not look correct to me. Others might chime in on this. But that usually indicates a carb that has been stamped over in my knowledge.

I am looking for that number carb. Not sure I want a restamp.

it is hard to tell from that image - definitely looks like the plating has been removed which is also a sign of a re-stamp - but hard to tell if there is less material. Also there is no factory code e.g. UA or RK after the date number.

Take more pics of the top, bottom and 2 sides. There are people here who can tell you if it has the right parts on it for that number. Then you can get a better idea of what it is.

There is no plant code stamp on it, which would be 2 letters.
The 1307 indicates a production date of 130 the day of 77. If it was an original production unit, that 4 digit code should end in 9 or 0 for a 69 or 70 production year.

looks like its a its a "real" carb to me...its a service piece..as Mark said no pick code..and that "mark" is 100% right..its the gang stamp tool thats struck the pad...seen it many times on service pieces many many times..a google would bring it up 100s of times..its a known defect in service carbs

and whos gonna restamp a desirable carb with a 1977 date?

low production carbs, and many service carbs are batch stamped by hand..that 77 date time line is common...77-78 is a very common date for service pieces..it was about the last batch they made

The throttle shaft, vacuum brake and rod, and base all appear to be correct to me.
