1966 442 production numbers
Hello all!
Does anyone happen to have production numbers for 1966 442s, specifically broken down to how many were produced for each exterior color and each body style?
Thanks!

What I have says nothing about exterior color and I don't think you will find that anywhere. My numbers show 21,997 4-4-2 cars were built in model year 1966, including 647 from the F-85 club coupe, 1,217 from the F-85 deluxe holiday coupe, 3,787 from the Cutlass sports coupe, 13,493 from the Cutlass holiday coupe, and 2,853 from the Cutlass convertible.

Thanks Randy. Those are some of the the numbers I'm aware of. I'm just curious how rare certain exterior colors are compared to others, and how many of each color were produced in a Holiday coupe, Sports coupe, etc.

I'm pretty sure you won't find anything on color information. I have a similar issue with my '68 4-4-2 convertible. It came from the factory with a bench seat. In the '80s in Hemmings Motor News, there were several advertisements where people would say only 201 '68 4-4-2 convertibles were made with bench seats. Where that number came from, and where it went, I don't know. The only thing I do know is that I know of only 2 other '68 4-4-2 convertibles with bench seats that came that way from the assembly plant. Not that it is a big deal in this instance...as some folks have said on this site, rarity in certain situations doesn't necessarily bring or mean high demand. I'd say that's true with a '68 bench seat 4-4-2 convertible!

I had an all original 68 442 vert with parchment bench, black top, saffron sheet metal, automatic car. Numbers matching down to the hose clamps. Rotted mess. Parted.
As far as color combo rarity its any ones guess. Common sense says there were more red cars then say K (68 color) code Ocean Teal Poly cars. Just how many nobody knows that answer. Color combos dont equate to rarity in the Olds word...for the most part. A red on red car isnt seen every day, nor a white body with dark teal gut. But a red, black or silver car will likely sell faster and for its asking price and get pulled over first.
