Carburetor for a manual trans...1979
My 72 350 has a carb numbered 17059253. From the limited knowledge I have about carbs, the number translates to a 4bbl Olds carb made in 1979 and was for a manual transmission...my question is what car was available in 79 with a manual trans...?...thanks
...and does anybody need it? Not sure if it has a specific application...

Are you basing the MT application on the last number being odd? If so, I don't think that really means MT application, at least not in the early years as shown by the carb data I have on file:
Year & Application.......Carb #
1970-
350..........................7040250
455..........................7040251
455 Toro .................7040252
350 W-31................7040255
455 442 MT.............7040253
455 W-30 M.T. .........7040256
455 W-30 A.T. .........7040258
455 W-33, 442 A.T. .7040257
Year & Application.......Carb #
1970-
350..........................7040250
455..........................7040251
455 Toro .................7040252
350 W-31................7040255
455 442 MT.............7040253
455 W-30 M.T. .........7040256
455 W-30 A.T. .........7040258
455 W-33, 442 A.T. .7040257

It is a 79 403 Quadrajet for Automatic.
In many applications, an odd number in last position indicates manual transmission. For Oldsmobile, that is not the case.
I would be interested in buying it. Message or email your price with shipping.
