Chris Witt memorial fund follow-up

I just wanted to let everyone know that Angela received a check late last week and sends the following. A sincere thanks to all who contributed.

Wanted to share with you that I received a very beautiful check in the mail today! What an incredibly extraordinary group of folks! I am so grateful for this, mere words cannot express. It will be used judiciously to make up the monthly differences not met by the loss of Chris' income. I am forever in your debt. God bless you and all the people who contributed.

In memory of the very dedicated Oldsmobrother, *the* Rocket Scientist.

I know he's smiling on you.

Thank you, Joe.

I'm glad that we were able to provide some consolation to Angela and Chris's family.

My thoughts exactly. He had been sharing his knowledge online since the internet was invented (ponder on that for a while).

Thanks Joe thats nice to read, i hope the best for her and his family. I was just cleaning off my desk today and came across a letter from Chris, more of a note really with payment for an antenna switch i sold him about a year ago. I too expect to see his post, and miss his knowlege and humor. Would have loved to have met him.

Thank you also Joe. What a tragedy. There were 2 motorcycle fatalities in Lansing that week. Chris and another unfortunate fella who got turned in front of out by the airport. I almost killed 2 bikers in my lifetime. Once in the 80's I almost turned in front of one in a 2 1/2 ton army truck while in Grayling on annual training, and once again just the other day I almost pulled out in front of a cyclist on M57. Both times involved the bright setting sun. When I say I almost pulled in front of them I mean I knew it was clear but something made me delay. I rode a 750 Honda before the 1st close call and rode it once or twice afterward and gave it up. I was so scared at each intersection. I consider myself a good driver. I don't know if I could live with it if I had killed or maimed one of those cyclists.

Thanks for the update Joe. I never met him, but I certainly appreciated his comedy. I'd encourage everyone to go back through his posts here when you're having a down day.
