wiper arm lenght

Hello everybody,

I'm facing a problem: I need to replace a windshield wiper arm, and when I consult suppliers, they all give me a length of 24.75 inches, while the one I have on my car is 20 inches;and it's not possible to install a longer arm.How can I get out of this situation? Why there is a so great difference ?

Northern California brake/machine shop for disc brake conversion?

Hello all,
i wanted to ask if anyone has a recommendation for a Northern California(or anywhere else in California) machine shop or brake shop that has done a 69/70 B body disc brake hub to a Cadillac CTS rotor machine work. I�m doing the 70 delta 88 to 66 delta 88 conversion. The 70 rotors are shot so the CTS rotors are my plan now.

I know many of you might say that any good machine shop can do this, it�s easy, but I�d like to find a shop that�s actually done this process before.

I have a 65 �442� with 3:23 gears. Can I swap them out for a set of 355 gears or does the carrier need to also be changed? Thanks!

Trimetal vs Bimetal bearings

In doing some research for my rebuild I've heard a lot of good things about Clevite bearings, and as it turns out they do have bearings that should fit my engine, but only in trimetal. I've seen other options from other conpanies that are bimetal, which makes me wonder, in terms of real world use what's the difference in using one as opposed to the other? This is for a stock 403 rebuild which is intended to be used as a daily driver/road trip car for as many miles as possible.

Can this be turned off in the settings some way? I have spent lots of time trying to post things only to have my post go up in smoke, these features do not seem to play well on an iPad. I want only the thread I am looking at or working on to display. Infinite scroll just needlessly complicates things.

Trying to figure out a starter solution for my '74 350

My '84 C10 is packing an Olds 350 Rocket. As best as i can tell from the numbers on it appears to be from 1974. It is set up with the Quadrajet and large-cap HEI ignition with gold paint hidden under GM Blue. Now my best guess is that it came from a Cutlass S or 442 or similar from that model year, given that mix of parts. The issue i have encountered is finding replacement starters. Twice now i have tried installing new starters only to find out they were for a newer 307 or something with a different tooth count on the starter and flex plate. So this brings me to the conclusion that pretty much all parts sources may have them marked as working on my setup, but only have them for the newer Metric flexplate. As my current flexplate is cracked i am wondering if i can safely just order one for a newer engine to be able to use these newer starters or if i cannot... Will a big block starter work on my small block as they seem to have the same 9 tooth bendix gear? I am not certain how many more times i can pull off rebuilding the current starter as rebuild parts for it are running low locally, so I'm just working on solutions. Also, has anyone on here had good luck with aftermarket gear reduction starters?
