My friend Bob Slusser is in the finals of the Dupont Restoration Challenge. Bob races Buicks and drives the 1970 Grand Prix that's in this last round. He asked me to post on here for him. http://www.restorationchallenge.com/bracket/

Please take a look at the site and vote for him. I know I know its a Pontiac but it's a very nice one. And I helped a bit with it. Thanks!

Among the boxes of parts that I received when I bought two Olds 215 engines was a tray/box full of carbs. These seem to be a smaller bore than the '68 and '70 quadrajets I am used to seeing. Some have remnants of metal tags on them but nothing is legible. Where should I be looking for numbers to I.D. these? Also, when I do find the numbers, where should I look to decode them? I will most likely not be using these on the 215 once I get it installed and running.

Thanks.

Well I took the car to work today. All was well on the way in, but when I left it made the tell tale "groan" from the power steering and I figured I had developed a small leak. Well......small was a SLIGHT understatement. The pitman arm shaft seal decided to go on hiatus and it was spewing out just as fast as I could pour it in the pump.
So I now need to replace the steering gear box. Fun, fun, fun.

I have what I think is an original window sticker from my 1970 W-30. However.....on the back of the sticker it is blank. There are no words or logos printed there. Now, some folks think the sticker shoudl say "Escape Machine".........others say a blank or clear back is correct. Some say either is correct as it depended on printers, vendors and dealers.

Can anyone say with authority what the back of a window sticker might or might not have had printed on it in 1970 for 442??

I was at a car show recently and was talking to a guy who owned a 70 Cutlass S. He told me that when he took the gas tank out of his car there was a build sheet placed on top of the gas tank from the factory. I dont know whether to believe him or not because the information he relayed while we were discussing oldsmobiles was not very accurate. Can anyone verify whether or not there is a build sheet wedged between the gas tank and the body of the car? Tempted to drop the gas tank to get to this information. Thanks!

New project in the works. Need some advice.
Of the 303/394 series engines, what is the latest / largest that will bolt in to a 50 Olds coupe without frame adapters?? Trying to get by with just swapping stock parts if possible... Lots of nostalgia in this project.
I also want to use the early GM 4spd hydro, so I will sacrifice some engine size if this tranny bolts up, since it will be for cruising, not racing........

Tks for any help..

The world's rarest automobile
The world's rarest automobile. A 1954 concept old's Rocket F88 - the only one in existence. (read the story below) John S. Hendricks, (Discovery Communications founder) paid in excess of 3 million to acquire.

1954 Oldsmobile F-88 Convertible Concept Car

After spending decades as a collection of parts stuffed into wooden crates the F-88 was reassembled.

In 1954 the F-88 was a Motorama Dream Car and was one of only two or an unconfirmed possible three ever created. The F-88 seen here is literally the only car left of its kind and was sold to John and Maureen Hendricks at the prestigious Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction in Scottsdale , Arizona for an unbelievable $3,240,000. This acquisition made automotive history and is the cornerstone of the Gateway Colorado Automobile Museum in its own special room in a rotating display worthy of the F-88!
