I am in the middle of a total interior replacement and am really in a quandry about the radio. It's the only thing holding up completing my dash. I bought and sent back a retro-sound radio and am not impressed with Custom Auto Sound. What kind of sound quality can I expect from these original radios? I would like to have something that sounds nice. I have already installed 6 X9 infinity's in the package tray and plan on kick panel speakers. Has anyone upgraded their original radio with MP3/IPOD capability? Can I add an amp to an original radio and would the wiring be there? I'm not sure which way to go?

hello guys, So a car that I am really considering buying happens to be a 442 clone. It is a numbers matching Cutlass Supreme convertible equiped like mine was prior to getting totaled 350/350 with the exception of the OAI hood grills and 442 badges in the grills and fenders and the famous white side stripes. the car is really clean but sort of torn as to buying a clone. it is a 72 with new paint and interior and top. I really like the car and thinking of replacing the 442 badges with cutlass badges and adding the correct oai air cleaner. I am just looking for opinions on buying a clone or should I say a 72 Cutlass convertible with 442 appearence... the hood and stripes look good I guess it is just the badges that I do not like. Are the holes for the emblems in the grill and fenders different for 442 badges vs cutlass badges?

Thanks

I am gearing up for a resto on my 65 F-85 Cutlass Convertable. I am debating the resto-rod/original dilemma. The car has a 330 hi comp 310 hp engine so if I wanted to go with a higher hp motor or rebuild what would be the limits of the Jet a way 2 speed trans? I believe I have heard these are great drag strip transmissions, so are they strong stock or are they building them up for racing?
Thanks to all--great site.

:) This is a copy of my first post on this site.... trying to figure out how to post and start threads... I'm in the process of restoring the old family car I bought new in 1972 and then taught 2 kids to drive in and sent off to college finally in the 80s. I thas been through a lot and is now getting restored... 2 door, hardtop, engine V-8 350, rebuilt with good trans and suspension.... so now it has finally come home to get some body work, only 3 panels with a couple rust spots and small dent in one door .... I have new weatherstripping and just got a set of side molding clips to put the molding back on once we remove it to do some body work and paint..
Only missing one small piece of molding. The small piece of molding on the right rear fender, between the wheel well and the door. looked on ebay and other sites but can't find.. so I have joined this site hoping to find mine missing piece... can anyone help??

I have a 6" water pump and found a water pump pulley that is 3.75' with 3 guides the first 2 guides are 5.5" in diamater and the 3rd is 6.5". The 6.5" is to large to fit the crank pulley. Do they make a water pump pulley that all 3 guides are 5.5"? If yes, how do I find one?

thanks,
