Got it running
Got my car running for the first time today. Its been sitting for 10 years. Put on HEI distributor, alternator and it fired right up. Smokes bad right now, maybe it will clear up.
One question. Where is the best place to get the 12 volts for the HEI distributor. I have it wired straight to the battery right now just to get it running. |

The HEI distributor needs 12 volts ignition. You can either use the horn relay or you can disassembly the dash and run another wire from the 12 volts ignition that went to your coil originally. If you still have the 12 volts ignition resistor wire in the engine bay you can attach another wire to it and pull it through the fire wall.
