67 cutlass heater motor resistor ?
Hey guys, finally putting together my 67 CS. Need some help with figuring out if my heater blower motor resistor/ bent metal wires are still useable? Put a new motor in the system and won't be able to actually run the system for a while. All wires look to be solid/ no breaks. Does anyone know how and if you can test the connectors to ensure they are in good repair. Thanks for any and all help
Thanks brian

The nichrome wires of the blower resistor have resistance that varies considerably with temperature.
When cool, they will conduct very well, perhaps showing only a few ohms, and when warm, they will be much more resistant.
In operation, with a decent current flowing through them, they heat up and their resistance stabilizes. You cannot test this with an ohmmeter without any load.
The failure mode of these resistors is for a point of the wire to melt, causing an open circuit - usually you can see this and it is obvious, but if you want to be sure, all you need to do is to look at how the loops of wire are connected to the terminals, and check with a meter or a test light to be sure that current actually flows where it's supposed to, and you will know that it works.
