64 3 speed

Anyone up north seen or heard about this car? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts...1%7C240%3A1318 Looks like it would make a neat sleeper with a 4 speed behind that 394.

First time I have seen or heard of that particular car, but a fellow here in central NJ has a near identical one, same exterior color even (though the interior is different). Also a 3 on the tree car. May be in better operating condition, though not much prettier to look at. Same guy has a 4 door Jetstar 88 3 speed car. Both way cool, and if either car was a 2 door, I would have already negotiated by now to have bought it. Sadly, both cars are siting outside, exposed to the elements, and deteriorating by the day.

Wow. A complete stripper. As in NO options- well, looks like it has Y-69 interior by the door handles. Not even power steering.

I can honestly say I have never seen a 1960s big Olds this low optioned. Dealers around here simply would not order one like that; they left that market to Chevy and Ford. This car would have been a conservative farm family's Sunday car.

I'm pretty sure you'd have to have some type of adapter to put a 4-speed behind the 394. Factory never offered it and I doubt any current 4-speed would bolt to the belhousing.

Yeah rocket, that's what got me too. The more I looked at the pics, the more I realized what WASN'T there. I had a 65 442 stick, man. brakes and steering. That was a handful, imagine trying to parallel park this boat?

I lost the power steering in my 63 impala and never fixed it. I had a stupid azz 13' wheel to boot, at first the thing was an absolute bear to drive, but got used to it fairly quickly. Could even palm the wheel in parking lots. as far as the dynamic goes, that thing would be an absolute riot of a sleeper, or even a custom of sorts.

My 62 dynamic has little to no options as well, is that common in the early 60's bottom end olds? Same as this one its a 3 on the tree without power brakes, and no anemities.

oh wow and the post is a few months old!!!!! i need bifocals

I don't know for sure, but it may not be possible to put a 4-speed behind the 394 (without major mods). Olds never offered the 4-speed with a 394. 1964 was the first offering of the 4-speed in the big cars, but only behind the 330 in a Jetstar 88. I think part of it had to do with the bell housings.

It did. The 4 mounting holes were in the wrong positions.
