looking for a picture

I am looking for a picture that shows the rocker assembly and the quarter panel. specifically the piece in front of wheel arch. wondering if this is a sole piece or part of the rocker. and if it is shared on any other gm. I ordered one from hess brothers and they sent me one from a 64. it is about a half inch wider and don't seem to have the same dip. but they say 63 and 64 are the same and won't do anything for me. if someone has some info it would be great. was looking at a 1963 body book on epay., but I do not know if it is in there. and for 70.00 bucks spent on a hope. if you have one of these books let me know if it is in there.

thanks Allan.

This picture may or may not help but I think this is the area you are speaking of.

yeah that's it, there is a lead joint just off the door space separating it from the quarter but is not included in a rocker panel. driving me nuts.

If I read you correctly ,what you are needing is called a "quarter panel dog leg patch" and they are ail able for a '63-'64 Chevrolet. If you are lucky they may be the same. See attached picture. The are available from autobodyspecialt.com in left and right. Larry

After looking at pictures of 1961 -1963 Impala ,I believe the 1961 4door is shaped more like your '63 quarter panel dog leg.Appears that '63- '64 quarters are flatter around the wheel well. 1961 pictured below. Larry

I think what you are asking about is a Dog Leg, which is separate from the Rocker Panel. The two pieces are Spot Welded together on a lap weld panel and then Leaded over. The 1963 and 1964 Olds F/S 1/4 panels are totally different from each other as complete panels but you may be able to piece some small sections together, but hammering and Dollying is probably something you'll be doing a lot of for a reasonable fit.

thanks Allan.
