57 Olds Pics
Here ya go...the car is in great shape overall, and completely stock. Original motor and drivetrain, etc. I've been kicking around the idea of upgrading the steeering to a more modern box that is more fun to drive. Do any of you have opinions (haha) regarding this - meaning any potential tradeoff of authenticity or value for a better driving experience? Thanks a lot.

That old girl is a beaut
. Around here you will find both schools of thought as far as modifications go...as long as its olds . Personaly, If you are not planning on trying to make a buck off the car...I would do what ever made me happy. We are still a free country, and we are only masters of a small portion of it. Take advantage of it![]() . Seriously if you want a tighter box, get one. The car is yours and should reflect you, not the other way around.

I am also curious ...
Is there a "Stock" disc brake spindle that will fit this car ..? If there is, will it improve the handling ..? I am into a-bodies and a 69 and later disc brake spindle improves the handling of 64-68 cars ... If there is, what steering box would you use ..? |

Thanks to everyone for the welcomes...I see a lot of 60's and 70's cars represented here. Those were the cars I aspired to in high school, as I worked on a hand-me-down 65 Chrysler 300 with 200,000+! Last edited by 57droptop; March 4th, 2009 at 01:01 PM.. |

Do you still have the '68?[/quote]
yes, changing my plans for it, but it's still around. Know where a guy might be able to find an early 60's full size ragtop on the cheep some time in the next fewyears. does no need to be complete by a long shot. just need the body
