402227 Rear End in my 1969??

Help!! I have a 1969 442 W30 and have just discovered the casting number is 402227 and shouldn't be! I have taken this car apart for the first time, and it sure seems no one has been into it before.................

That is the correct casting. I have one here right now, from a 69. If you remove the axles, you will find that it has sealed bearings with inboard seals.

This is why all of my questions should be asked here and I need to forget about Google. All it does is cause me to worry until I get a real factual answer. Thanks again,
Kyle

Cfd 7

I know the CFD stands for Central Foundry Division - where all(?) Olds (GM?) castings are born. Every cast piece that I've checked on my '68 has the CFD somewhere thereon. I'm clueless as to the "7."

It was probably mold #7, unless the 7 has the impression of a screwhead cast on either side, in which case it's a date code (7th day of the year).

Need some help!

I've got a 1972 Chevelle SS. It has a Oldsmobile type o rear end in it with disc brakes and 410 gear. I would like to get rid of it.
does anyone have any idea what it is worth?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciate it.
I'd like to put a Ford 9-inch in it or maybe put a 12-bolt back in it. You can call or text me at 309-737-5990. Thank you in advance Steve
