auto to stick

hi guys , i have 54 olds , 324 motor , auto trans , i want to swap the auto for stick , and maybe change the motor ,anybody ever do the swap , and what other years can i use for the pedals, thanks JOE

Hmm... you will have to decide what manual transmission to use. You will also have to decide what engine to use. If you stay with the old 324 motor then it has a completely different bell housing than newer Oldsmobile motors. If you convert an automatic transmission car to a manual transmission car you also have to remove the engine, completely disassemble it, and have the crankshaft drilled for a bushing. Not to mention that you are going to have to set up the clutch and shifter.

thanks for your reply olds 64 , i dont have to stay with the 324 , at this stage ill be happy with either a 3 or 4 speed, i understand theres work involved, thanks for your input JOE
