wiring diagram needed

i am working on a 1980 cutlass calais and among other things i am trying to figure out my ac wiring. i can get two of the speeds to work low and medium but not high. if i hook power to directly to the fan the hi works but not from the inside i think it is the blower relay but cannot find a good diagram. the one at autozone i generic i need to test the relay and it has five wires. would a generic relay work, what amps rating would i use?

For all the work you are doing to that car, and all the questions you are asking, it is well past time for you to purchase a Chassis Service Manual and Fisher Body Manual. There are over a dozen 1980 CSMs on ebay right now, starting at $4.99 and up. Spend the money.

Yep same conversation we had on oldsmobile forums! Again, if you don't have the coin, head for the local library and check it out and again if they don't have it on hand, there are other libraries around the country that can transfer it in!

And if you make a mistake while working on your car it will cost way more money than what a manual will cost!!!!

Guess I may mention not many here post much on 80's cars. Therefore hoping for diagrams etc. may be futile to get a response. I'm pretty sure paper may be your best bet for info. Buy the Ebay goodness mentioned and steer away from Haynes manuals.

Good luck with your fixin'

went to pull and save and got a headlight switch,a high speed relay for the fan and a wiper switch and a power seat switch. now the lights work except for one light ,i think it is the bulb and no low beam ,one more switch, the wipers work but i need to adjust the wiper position,it stops up no park switch i think the wiper motor had some broken plastic parts inside, and the electric seat works, don't know about the fan yet it took to long to put electric seat back together, probably have to go back to pull and save saturday to get more seat parts and a wiper motor. progress is going . now on to the gauges.
