Question What's the best color?

Hi, I have a question:

What is the best color to paint a '71 Convertible Cutlass?

OR

Where can I look online to view similar vehicles for sale?

The best color is...what ever your little heart desires.
There's no wrong colors...favorites maybe.
I love galleon gold.

Thank you for your response. We were trying to pick the best color that would sell. The car is in excellent condition, and I'm starting to realize the color won't matter.

Well...there's a reason they call it 're-sale red.'

Thanks you guys! I think the color is going to be red...that's what it was previously and looked very nice. When we're finished maybe I can post the listing here.

Nah. I think the best color for a 71 Cutlass would be Root Beer Brown and Bronze with a black top.

You must remember that the more conservative colors look best on the Oldsmobile because when they were new that's what they were painted. The people buying them had more income and a more reserved taste in colors. If you wanted a fast car and were young you bought a Chevy. Alot of Olds and Buick buyers went to the showroom with their Dad and he kind of dictated what went down. Hence not alot of 4 speeds in comparison to the cheaper Chevys. This goes for the colors too. Oldsmobiles look the best in golds and silvers and such IMO. Does anyone know what I mean?

Paint it the color of your wife or girlfriends eyes. That will get you a lot of fish and chips, maby a pint or two. Andy

Root beer brown? It has a black top and black interior. Hmmm...that might be nice.

If all you want to do is a quickie sale to someone who could not care less about authenticity, yeah, red is the way to go though I personally think they look trashy in red. Then again I've never seen many cars I thought truly looked good in red.

If you want to sell the car to someone who cares about such things (meaning will spend $$ to get it), the best color is whatever the data plate paint code is.

Color is definitely a matter of preference, but I'm with Rallye on the gold. I like the Aztec Gold just a little better than the Galleon, but both are awesome colors.

Thanks son, that was the color of my 1971 Cutlass for the rest of you all.

Red would be an easier job for the painter since it is the original color. Missed spots on door jambs and under trunk lids won't show up so much.
