Hello all,
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can use for the 3/4 hose that goes from the thermastat housing to the water pump? I bought a chrome housing and it doesnt have the metal tube.

Is it also missing the hole, where the by-pass neck should be?

Ask the parts store for a bypass hose for a 1965-67 425 engine. Those didn't have the curved metal tube; they had a molded curved hose instead. The change was made in the late 60s since apparently a curved metal tube was cheaper to make than a curved molded hose.

A good (read accommodating) parts store will let you ramble thru their molded hose stock and match up something.

I expect this chrome t-stat housing will give you leak problems. I've never seen one that didn't. You need to sand the sealing surface on a piece of plate glass or known flat metal plate to true it. Expect to use a lot of sealer even then.
