Newbie

Hello,
Today I just bought my first Olds. It is a 67 Cutlass Supreme convertible. It is rust free from stem to stern, needs the upholstery redone (but is really pretty good for its age), has a new top that needs to be installed and is a very straight and solid car.
HOWEVER....
I am not sure about the options because the I.D.#s are not familiar to me, nor do I have a way to know. The car has bucket seats but a column shift and no console. Is this normal? It has a Q-jet carb and A/C. It also has some really funky looking (read "ugly") mags that must be from way back when. I have no pics right now, but it is that sort of teal metallic that was very common on these, along with black interior.

Is there a way to decifer this I.D. easily? Also, who are the best (read "cheapest") decent parts suppliers for this car?

Yes. When you ordered bucket seats and an automatic trans, you got the column shifter. The console and floor shifter was an extra cost option.

Cheapest and best are two different things. In most cases you get what you paid for. Having said that, most of the repro parts (upholstery, patch panels, decals) are only made by one or two manufacturers and all the vendors sell the same stuff. One big exception is Fusick, who develops many of their repro parts themselves.

So is the combination of C/S convertible, A/c, HO330, bucket seats and no console fairly rare? It would be really cool if I stumbled onto a rare car. I'm not holding out much hope, though.
