Pull the trigger and it makes the big square part spin.

Oh you have to supply air pressure [and volume] to it.

What more do you need to know?

why would you buy that wuss tool, they were all out of the BIG ones?

:-)

Dang...

I paid $50 for it with shipping it looks like they go for $300 . It doesn't look like it needs anything but a good cleaning the grease in it is hard as rock. It has a hammer in it like I never saw before that's why I need the diagram. I want to use it on my rear on the crush sleve. Than I might get rid of it. Or I may just hold on to it so I can say mines bigger than yours.

You could disassemble a bulldozer or tank with that thing. I am way too old to maneuver that thing. A set of sockets will be huge.

That requires a jack hammer type of compressor to power it up. What were you thinking when you bought that monster? A 3/4" drive will have all the power that you would ever need, and most likely, even a good brand of 1/2" drive air gun will deliver all the power that you will ever need to do work on your Olds. Bigger isn't always better..

I have 3 air compressors I was thinking. You know those "splitters" that turn one outlet into 3? I was thinking of turning one of those around and running 3 hoses into it at once.

Or you can use 1 hose and connect all 3 tanks together.

Did you find a breakdown yet. If not I might have one. I repair air tools and have a lot of old breakdowns. That is a old tool. Not sure about parts. you will need 90 psi at the tool about 30 to 40 cfm at least.I want to think off the top of my head the last time I repaired and tested one of those it only put out about 1100 ft lbs torque. Not much for its size

screen

I also meant to say. You might want to check a filter screen in the tool. I believe this model has one that gets clogged up. If it does it will be under that hex nut between the inlet bushing and the forward/rev lever. Good luck.
That impact mechanize is a dandy.

I haven't found one yet I couldn't get the impact mechanism apart . The motor works OK as far as I can tell and seance I can't get parts for it I so no reason to disassemble it.I sure could use diagram.

When I get back in the office I will look. I hope I kept all the old ones. Does it impact at all? Have you got a bolt /nut and socket to test it with?

When I put it back together its tight when I loosen the bolts in the center it loosens back up so some thing is not quite right. I never tightened them up the whole way so everything should be alright.

Wink crush sleeve

Please don't use a "gun" for your pinion crush sleeve. You may overtighten the
pinion nut,and have too much preload, and ruin the pinion bearings.Typically the pinion bearing preload spec for NEW bearings is 15-30 lb in .USED bearings spec is 10-20 lb in .i use a needle type tourque wrench for checking that.!!!
