'64 Vista F85 Wagon
'66-67 Toro
70's Omega
Interesting collection
Beats the empty / torn down buildings at University Olds.
Evidently it's Jeff S****d's collection?

^@$%^@#$ rechargeable batteries + lame charger = dead camera
The above pic was via cell phone which was also painful
Today I unloaded the camera and found the last pic before the batteries refused to go on:

Lovin' it!
Several years back there was a 78 Holiday 88 in a local junkyard with a University Olds badge. To this day I don't know why I didn't get it off that car as I used to scarf badges from cars that originated a ways away from here.
The former Buick store here has several old Buicks in their showroom. After GM in its questionable wisdom yanked their 83-year franchise to give it to the crooked Chevy dealer, they still have those on display.

How cool would it be to have the rotunda from the Willow Run plant as your "showroom" or place to keep stuff. So far as I know it's still there, but I think they're knocking the rest of the place down.

First it was the engines.....
Very cool stuff.
If I recall correctly, Rocket, it was right around that '78 Holiday's time that Olds started sneaking in the Bow Tie engines. Also if I recall correctly, they actually thought nobody would notice!
I feel the same way about those old potmetal trunk badges. Actually, my old '72 Buick GS was bought from Childress Buick in Phoenix (still in existence, to my knowledge, as I called them a few years back) and it had an old-style potmetal license frame. I paid good money to rechrome it and then I restored the lettering myself. I always figured it was part of the car and deserved restoration, too....
And speaking of trunk badges, I was the new-car get-ready guy at Star Chrysler in N.O. in 1979 when Chrysler came in one day and rolled down the overhead doors and gave everybody 2 weeks severance pay and told them to go home. I had a stack of "Star Chrysler" potmetal badges and thought one day I'd give or sell them to some eager owners; but alas, they became another Katrina casualty after keeping the miserable things for 25 years .
Mossy Motors (formerly Mossy Oldsmobile) in the heart of N.O. is one of the oldest family run dealerships around. I have a yardstick from them that was issued somewhere in the 60s or maybe 70s, displayed near my Starfire, altho' I have no bloody idea which dealership originally delivered the car. Love that kinda' stuff....

University Olds building is going to be opened up as a new trailer/used car sales lot. The garage area was torn down. My dad (Bill Rogers) was a auto salesman back in the 60's-80's, He worked at University and Story, also Max Curtis, Dan O'shaunessey, Kouts, and others. Lots of memories... Anybody remember the O'Shaunessey's 4 leaf clover sticker that they put on the back of their cars? I would love to get 1 of those...

Bill O'Shaunessey was Dan's son. Bill O'shaunessey Chevy was in Dewitt, which before that was Bill Buck Chevy. Dan O'shaunessey Chrysler Plymouth Dodge was on Grand Avenue in Lansing where the boarshead theatre was which was just torn down. Dan O's showroom on Grand was built brand new in the 60's and I dont know for sure where it was before that. When dad worked there he sold used cars at their used car lot which was on the S/E corner of Larch and Cedar where the closed gas station is now and Liskeys alignment used to be O'Shaunesseys Body shop. Dad Also worked for Bill O's in Dewitt in 1971. Ahh the memories....

Greg, would you know of any pics of University Olds from the late 60's? I've tried online searches at libraries in Lansing, and the Historical sites, but I have had no luck in finding any. My '69 came from there, so it would be nice to get a pic.

I believe thse cars are from the REOlds museum. When I was there in early December, they said their storage plans fell thru and they just found out that they could store some cars in a dealership showroom. Might be them.

Michigan Winter Wonderland will get you to a site that has a bunch of old Michigan stuff as in Dragstrips (onandaga is there) Drive ins, amusment parks (Lake Lansing), Oval tracks(Jackson,Spartan) Theatres, gas stations... its cool. Lot of pics. That is where I found the Lost Lansing site and it was really neat, but I guess it's gone now

The other day there was a 70 Cutlass or 442 inside the showroom at University but now it's gone. I was told that it was going to be opened up as a new trailer/used car dealership. A friend of mine went by there yesterday and said they were selling used cars but no trailers. I haven't been by lately.
