leaving in the morning to go race 3 wheelers... finally

wanted to race 3 wheelers all my life, as some of you know from another post a while back. well it is finley here, i will get to practice and ride on a 3 wheeler for the first time in 10 years then race Saturday. i went to 4 wheelers so i could race and now returning to my roots. in 99 it was almost as hard leaving 3 wheelers as it would be to leave oldsmobiles. i regret leaving 3 wheelers so i will learn from experience and not leave oldsmobiles. the guy that i am racing for wants me to drive my Rallye 350 to one of the races this summer. i figure i could have a great time driving an Oldsmobile and racing 3 wheelers. couldn't get much better than that.

this guy in NY is building new 3 wheelers out of new Honda 450R 4 wheelers and Honda 450R motorcycles. he combines the two and makes a modern 3 wheeler. i am racing for him. many of the other guys have custom built modern 3 wheelers. some of them have the old 250R Hondas.

Man that guys right up the road from from me. Good luck with the racing, I'm going to have to check the local tracks for 3 wheeler races, that would be a blast to get out to.

Hey I used to have one of them big red honda 250"s. I ended up selling it to a buddy of mine who also had a brand new 4 wheeler and he ended up driving the 3 wheeler more last summer than his own wheeler. It had the huge turf tires on it and you could drive it for long distances with the front wheel up in the air full time. it was a lot of fun to drive but also a handfull at times , just a question of balance.

no broken bones!

Boy was i more rusty than i thought. there were only 7 in the class because some of the others were out at the imperial sand dunes in CA for a big ride. i got second place but made the winner work for it. the first moto he won and i was right on him. i figured out what i needed to do in the last race to win. on the last lap i was going to do a double, double, double, a rhythm section that none of us were doing. i was going to do it on the last lap because the flagger was in the middle of this section and if i was out of control i would have still made it across the finish before anyone could have got around me. i think he figured out what i was going to do because on the last lap he did it also and won the second race also. sure was fun. they are making some big changes on the bike for the February race. i think i will do much better. here is a you tube video of the race but it is not very good. i am the one in second place.

That was awsome, I watched the video a couple of times he knew you were going to take it if he didn't do something cause you put a wheel in on him more than one time. that is one kool bike makes me miss my scooter, and glad to see you made it back safe dont worry a couple more moto's will knock that rust off.

Awsome bike! I had an '86 250r a while back and thought it was mean but that thing is all sorts of updated. I bet the modern suspension alone makes a world of difference.

WOW! i posted this a year ago. i ran 8 races last year. i got 5 first place finishes 2 second place and a fifth place. there were between 8 to 18
3 wheelers per race. this year i will be doing some freestyle on it then will retire from off roading all together.

they are the most incredible 3 wheelers i ever ran. just tonight i am almost finished with a new one for a customer. this is as new of a 3 wheeler you can get.

this is the first ever 3 wheeler freestyle. in September of this year will be the first ever 3 wheeler in a freestyle show. i just need to get through this last year with no broken bones and i will be happy. to tell you the truth, i am excited to retire from this stuff and focus on Oldsmobiles.

And there the passion was born...

It is interesting of how many future hobbies are decided upon at youth.
