Question Another Oldsmobile 324 Engine question

We got the engine back together, gaskets and everything. Went to prime the oil and we are getting no oil into the rocker arms or heads. The oil goes into the lifters and the front and back of the engine without a problem. So, we have taken the heads back off, and double checked the pistons (everything is fine there). Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be? What we're trying tonight is tearing the timing chain cover off and getting down to see if the cam bearings were installed correctly. We had them installed by the machine shop. Anyone ever had this problem?

Thanks,
Sandy

STOP NOW!!!! The cam has to be spinning to force oil up to the rockers!!.. I learned this the hard way on a 394. Also double check there is no blockage of 45+ year old garbage in the oil holes leading up to the rockers thru the heads or block. Spin the crank with a ratchet and prime the engine - do this with no spark plugs in the heads - its a whole lot easier

Thanks, that was our problem, along with a tad of dirt in the cam bearing holes.
