dayton wire wheels
was looking on ebay for 17" dayton wires and found some. but what i dont understand is how the wheels actually bolt up to the wheel studs. is the wire part like a bolt on style hubcap like the older cars have or is it something totally different? i've never actually dealt with these types of wheels before but i have seen them on a few b-body cars and like the look. heres the ones i was looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-Ch...1341QQtcZphoto

There is center hub piece that bolts to the studs then one big knock off nut holds the wheel to the hub.

heres the 2 im torn between lol. they both look good imo. they didnt list the delta 88 in my year so i used the caprice as a demo.

the car will probly see mostly in town driving for awhile. but more or less in the future probly more highway than city driving.

If you want classy wire wheels check out the Crager 470 . They have brought them back after being discontinued for two years. I have to upgrade to 15" wheels to clear my disc brake conversion on my 57. welded spokes. Look like the real thing and can handle the hp of my car no problem. Better looking then the Daytons. Look better on a retro rod though. or an early rod.

whats wrong with knock off style wheels? i have been running 14's with knock offs for years with no problem!!! i drove from hartford to los angeles on them scott free!!!

You might also consider buying knock offs and putting the Cragar spinner on them. A buddy of mine did that in high school when he put knock off Cragar SS wheels on his 81 Camaro with the Cragar spinner. Nobody ever knew... except us.
