66 B-Body frame Questions?

Hello everyone,
I have a 1966 B-body Starfire that the frame is rotted out. I was wondering if any other B-body frames would work in it place. I found a 4 door Impala frame but I wanted to make sure the frame horns, wheelbase, and everything else would be the same.

Thanks,
Nick

No interchange with other GM B bodies in those years, you need a 65 or 66 Olds 88 or starfire frame except the Jetstar 88.

By the way I have a complete 66 Starfire and 3 66 Delta 88 part cars in Austin, Tx local pick up only,

Henry

The 65-66 J88 frame should be the same also. The differences are the front spindles and rear axle housing, not the frame itself.

All I can go by Joe is the info in the Hollander Interchange does not recognize J88 frame as possibility, also the '66 edition of the Oldsmobile Parts and Accessories catalog list a different part # for the J88. That being said it's no doubt a closer fit than a chevy impala frame!

Understand. I'm convinced that Hollanders is not always accurate. For example, my 1964-74 Hollanders says that only Cutlass disk brake spindles fit Cutlass. We all know from first-hand experience that ANY 1964-72 A-body spindles will interchange.

Your Starfire is 123" frame, all 65/69 Deltas, coupe/sedan are 123". I would do some more research but I'm "fairly" certain they'll intetchange. Just My Guess, Ken

On a similar note

I have a 65 Jetstar 88 with a rotted frame. Will any of the 65-66 b bodies work? And is there anything else that fits? I know the Jetstars have different components but I can't find anything that says for sure.

66 Starfire frame

If you determine that a 66 Starfire frame will work I have a very nice bare frame. Both being 66 88series olds the frames should be identical.

That is how I understand it, all 65,66 88 series 2 door frames were the same. If you look at a Jetstar vs. a Starfire it would be hard to believe the frames are different. I would love to get this frame to someone who could use it and save it from going to the scrapyard.

I was checking on someone near me who was checking to see if his brother had one that would probably be much easier to get than from you. He did not however so I am still in need. I have the understanding that the 2-doors and the 4-doors sit on the same chassis, and if that is true, I am interested.
Where is yours located? I recently found a 65 Dynamic 88 in a local scrap yard that definitely wasn't there a month ago and the frame appears to be in very solid shape (appears that it was in storage and something fell on it damaging the roof and driver's side body) but if yours isn't too far away I would much rather have one that doesn't need sanding and finishing.
You can PM me your details.
