I work on Motorola two way equipment. For years they have printed and produced Maintenance Manuals with schematics but recently they are provided the manuals on-line (same as on a cd) and I do not like working with them. I prefer having a printed page to work on, especially when reading a schematic (which would apply for our cars when looking at wiring, hydraulic drawings, etc). Just my opinion, I wouldn't use one as much as a printed one.

Does anyone know where I can find a color copy then? I'm like you, I hate reading off of computers and prefer a printout but I figure if it comes down to it, I can print the page myself. I'm trying to track down a color copy of the printed manuals if you know where one is. I may just have to go to Kinko's with the CD haha.

Have you looked at a 1968 Oldsmobile Chassis Service Manual? They have color schematics of the wiring plus a whole lotta other good information. You can pick them up on ebay with the low price of about $25 and a high price of like $79, depending on if you buy one from a private party or a business. I've been slowly picking up one for each year of car I have and believe they're worth their weight in gold! John

What's the difference between the chassis Service Manual and the Shop Service Manual? should I just get every manual I can find? I want to buy what actually works.
I have an electrical gremlin in the engine bay and a ton of wires to clean up. Plus I'm adding a Tach and replacing the fuel sender wire. |

Hey Jolly
I'm guessing they're the same, attached is a link to an ebay auction for a 1966. You'll see on the front cover it's called a Chassis Service Manual, and the auction describes what's in it. I can show you the 1968 I have when your in this part of the country. I've also got a body manual, but I don't use it very often. The Chassis one should be your first purchase, then see what it lacks and look for a reference with that info. John http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1966-...em320216246121
