Rear End Control Arm Bushing Replacement - CSM Says No ?

Replacing all the rear end control arm bushings on my 72 442 convertible. Have already dissasembled, and pushed out all the old bushings, bead blasted the arms etc. Was looking in the CSM as to proper way of installing the new bushings, but it says that the ones in the rear end housing can be replaced, but the bushings in the arms cannot be and replacement arms should be used - anyone know why?

I am guessing that back in the day it was cheaper to just put new arms on than the labor and parts to replace. When you install the new ones in the arms support is needed else you will bend the arm...You need to put some sort of spacer in there so the U channel does not close up.

They can be replaced, but the CSM was most likely suggesting it is more cost and time efficient to replace the entire arm assy.
