according to a book i have, it says the following for 1968 colors (and i cant be certain of the books 100% accuracy)

exterior colors

a - ebony black
b - twilight teal (toro only)
c - provincial white
d - saphire blue
e - Nocturne blue (NA on toro)
f - teal frost
G - willow gold
k - ocean turquoise
L - teal blue
M - Cinammon bronze
N - burgundy
P - silver green ( NA on toro)
R - scarlet
S - Jade Gold
T - ivory ( NA on toro)
v - juneau gray
w - silver beige (toro only)
x - buckskin
y - saffron yellow (NA on toro)
z - peruvian silver (toro, and HO only)
- - custom order color

usually a white top - be it a convertible, or a vinyl is a code 1
as an example - a scarlet red olds with white convertible top, or white vinyl top is a R-1 code

scarlet red with a black top (convertible, or vinyl) is R-2

here are the top codes for convertible tops
1 - white
2 - black
4 - blue
8 - gold

here are the top codes for vinyl roof hard top
2 - black
4 - blue
5 - teal
6 - parchment (off white)
7 - buckskin
8 - gold

hopefully someone else can help with the RC code cause my book makes no mention of a C used anywhere on the cowl plate

is it possible this is a two tone painted car? two tone painted cars are option code D99 on the option list in my book. If this is the case, its possible you have a red lower body paint, and a white painted top?

hopefully someone else can shed light on this better
