Transmission cross-member
This might be stupid question, but am i right that any A-body dual-exh. transmission crossmember bolts to 76 Cutlass too? I have duals, but somebody, somewhere didnt change the crossmember, and it looks stupid underneath the car, and when looking enough far away the car and seeing drivers side exhaust going under crossmember. Just to know can i search any year crossmember for me.
Thanks for answer.

Not sure if you want to cut your crossmember and weld it up. If you look at my 76 olds pictures in my profile you can see how my crossmember looks.
Not sure what years interchange but I know others here do.
Hope this helps

Thanks for pic. Im aware i can do it myself, but im asking this since i wouldnt want
to destroy my original crossmember, instead store it if theres another fitting crossmember which is from factory to duals.

I believe the 73-75 Olds as well as malibu/chevelle, monte carlo crossmembers come to mind.
I hope other guys here can help out some with your?
If you go onto 73-77 olds site and do a search you may come up with something.
Hope this helps

Only the 1973-74 A-body crossmembers are double hump. Starting with the 1975 model year, all came with a converter and single exhaust.

I wasn't sure if 68-72 were the same width as those on the 73-77 cars. If they are, then absolutely. Obviously the convertible/Vista crossmembers are narrower due to the boxed frames.

Also El Camino are too narrow due to boxed frame also.
So an Early A body cross member should work. I can't imagine it would need much modification. Or the 73-74 cross member pre catalyst era would do it.

Update- while ago made a lucky score for correct crossmember on Ebay when searching what was for sale for my car.
Post and taxes cost more than the crossmember itself, but its money well spend.
