WANTED: 1980 Cutlass Calais
Hi everyone, new member here, hoping there is someone out there that help me find a car. I am looking to find and buy a 1980 Cutlass Calais. I think these were actually a Supreme, but at a different "option" level. They also had a slightly different front end than the regular Supreme so that is one of the outwardly instantly recognizable features.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Hi Whip, Thanks, but, guess I'll have to pass on this one. Sounds like an interesting car. I gotta stick with finding a 1980 for all the "wrong" sentimental reasons. Jim

I have a 1980 cutlass calais for sale. It is painted like a H/O with decals and emblems and it has the H/O rims with center caps. I have the build sheet and a clean title. I use to drag race it. It has no interior. It needs an engine has the one it had threw a rod out of the oil pan. I have another block and crank but no piston and rods. It has a NOS 175 kit on it. It has an 8-point roll cage. It has a BeCool radiator with electric fans on a switch, 8.5" rearend with Moser Engineering axles and C-Clip eliminators, Dick Miller suspension with no-hop bars, adjustable upper arms and front and rear Q-1 shocks. The transmission is a TH-350 with 3500 rpm stall, reverse pattern shift and Redneck transbrake. It shifted very firm. I have a set of 14" & 15" rims with slicks. I have all the receipts. You can see pics at rocketattack.tripod.com. I can send newer pics if you want. PM me if interested.

A few weeks back I was speaking with a guy who has a 1980 442 that is a decent car. Very rare and I think total production was in the 800's. It had a brand new original interior done with NOS fabric, rebuilt motor and trans. I will PM you the person's name and phone number when I find it. Price was very reasonable. Car is in Cincinnati (son lives there) and seller is in Indiana.

Thanks Lars. This is a nice looking car, but it is not a Calais. I need to find an 80 Cutlass Calais. The front end of a Calais is slightly different and comes equipped with bucket seats, full gauges, floor shift with console.

I called the seller this morning and he was on his cell which I had sent you. He called me right back and he still has the car. He said he has had some inquiries but not one from you. I doesn't matter to me if you want to pursue it or not and if not, just say so as I may send others his way. I was trying to give you first shot at it.

Thanks again for responding and giving me first shot. Please go ahead and turn your other contact loose if you have not already done so. If the other guy gets there first, guess it's my loss.
