Yes that one, thats a gorgeous car, although im not crazy about the wheels, but he says $1000 less if he keeps the wheels and puts the originals on.

Front left fender has been replaced at some time. Collision? Rust? Who knows....wonder why he has the 2bbl snorkel pointing forward instead of attached to the hot air tube?
Beautiful looking car. Hope it runs as good as it looks.

Scott, nice find, but really strong valuation.
Noticed there are no pics of the interior and engine. The hood is not original. None of the AC A bodies in 72 have rear cowl vents so something must have happened to this car at some point in its life to warrant a replacement.
Dual exhaust on this car means it should have a J or M code engine if factory original.
Green is not a great re-sale color IMO, but still a pretty looking car from the outside.

Neither can I, but what to say? Too bad your car is the wrong color - it's absolutely gorgeous and priced right IMO. Robb, you should really look at this car, it's a flattop but absolutely immaculate! Outside color Aspen Green is so light it would likely be easy on your eyes. Whattaya say Dark Lord?

That's also a very early production 71. Check the fenders. They are leftover stock from 1970! What's really strange is how naked that car looks without the roof rack.
Someone should mention to the seller that in 1971 the 455 was blue, not gold. Master Rob is looking for a 350 turnkey at the right price.

Rob needs to come out and give us an update as to what he wants, or doesn't. There have been several nice cars brought up that fit his criteria and yet he is still Vistaless.

I can. What was urgent 5 years ago has become a casual search today. As a result I have become pickier.
That one was deleted - wonder if it sold...
Yes there have been a few good brought up, but either I found them to need too much work (no time or room for a project) or the seller was uncooperative. The latter ruled out two of my favorites, too.
While i am not on this site as often as I had been, I am still looking for a wagon on the side.
The more I look, the more I want a gold one with no woodgrain. Black, silver or burgundy would be great also.
Working Ac is a must also, as it is Texas down here.
Thanks again to all who post suggestions!

Un co-operative. adj. not willing to budge on price.
Seller. noun - a dufus who thinks a 5,000.00 car is worth 23,499.70.
There really isn't a big market for Vista Cruisers IMO. Rob, you might have to find one that is mechanically great, fantastic interior, and bite the bullet for a paint job.

I never even got to price on any of the ones I inquired on. I think most of them were just not to serious on selling.
The more I deal with the crap above the more I give up... All of the cars I were interested in where in different states, some across the country. If i am going cross country to get a car, I am coming back with it, not just looking. That is why I need the details before hand.
The seller of Lady is the type of seller I am looking for. He gave me all the details and pics I wanted, no excuses. When I got there (1800 miles away), I was not disappointed either. She was worth every penny!
I need a great reliable drivetrain, working AC, reasonably good chassis (as in safe), straight body, and very good paint. The rest I can deal with later if needed. This will be a daily driver when the Caddy goes bye-bye. .

Rob, (or should I say Dark Lord...)
You know I was just funnin with you on those defs? I fully understand how pitiful some of the cooperation can be on line with requesting information. That said, we'll still keep our eyes peeled for ya. Are you still firm on no 455? I think it would handle the VC better than the 350/350 even though it's a bit harder on fuel.

Unicorn?
You never know, maybe Unicorns do exist...except for the woodgrain. Nugget Gold, Cream interior, 350 4bbl AC...Love this car, and although not currently on the market, as they say everything is always for sale. Hope that does not make me an "uncooperative seller" !!!

That 'unicorn' looks fabulous. I'm not in the market but I bet if you posted more pics and a price it might get Master Rob's attention? I like the cragars too - they set the car off nicely. Is this a 2 or 3 seater?

J/K...
Even though I prefer no woodgrain, this is in great shape and actually contrasts well with the car. The Cragars give a unique look and are period correct. There is something about this gold that I had just come to adore. Perhaps it is unique and classy.
So is this an original car or restored? Where is the rear spoiler that I see most with?
If you would be considering selling it, send me a PM and we can talk some more.
The only guilt I would have is subjecting it to an outside life and daily driver duty. However I only drive 300 miles a month to work and shopping.
If anyone else has a nugget gold Vista in great shape with a 350 and AC and 'decent' interior, that has been hogging the garage too long, let it be known!
#267
I do not believe it came with a roof rack and spoiler...I suppose it was frame-on restored in the early 2000's, it came my way via Michigan but spent most of it's life in Idaho. I suppose it would not hurt to have a conversation..PM me and we can exchange numbers. Much appreciated on the compliments.

Dan, that was posted up in permalink 254. Nice car but wrong engine and colors. Did you notice the 1970 fenders?

Yep, I'd forgotten about the engine requirements, and having seen so many lately, I just could not remember if it had been posted.

Barn find in Moscow, ID - from 2nd owner 1971-2011...... now out of 5 year storage and for sale.
*Nice driving* Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser, rare car-hard to find...in good shape! Vista windows are really nice, body very straight with little rust. Rally wheels, great tires, power disc brakes, P/S, tilt wheel, A/C car-needs charged with nice interior. Engine is a 350 V8 with a TH400 transmission and 103,000 original miles on car with great oil pressure. This wagon has lots of style and I get positive comments where ever I go! It is a two seat station wagon with room for stuff in back, even with a storage compartment under the rear floor.
This car does have some surface rust on hood and lower tailgate. Also some rust on passenger side rear wheel well lip. Roof and Vista windows are in very good condition.
Asking price is $8750** or Best Offer

1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Vista Cruiser
1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Vista Cruiser for sale. I have had this car for just a few years and everywhere it goes it gets attention. I always seem to run into somebody that remembers vacation trips in one of these...or whose grandfather had one. It's been a fun car. I just have too many other projects in line right now and would really like to see this car go to someone who has more time to devote to it than I do. This Vista has the Rocket 350 V8 with 2bbl carb. I rebuilt the original TH400 transmission only about 500-600 miles ago. All bushings, bearings, washers, clutches, steels, gaskets, and rubber were replaced along with a 34 element intermediate sprag and HD race and a mild Transgo shift kit. New universal joints, front and rear, were replaced at the same time as transmission rebuild. The original 350 engine has never been apart and probably could use an overhaul, even though I have no problem getting in this car and feeling comfortable driving it anywhere. I have upgraded the ignition to a billet aluminum HEI electronic ignition distributor. The original alternator and external voltage regulator has been upgraded to a late model GM internal regulator 80 amp alternator. A/C compressor and receiver dryer have been replaced but has not yet been charged. Both front calipers, brake pads, rotors, bearings, seals, and hoses have been replaced on the front disc brakes along with new shocks up front. The interior is original green and does need carpet and some attention to driver side front door panel...rest of interior is driver quality...not show quality. Body is fairly solid and does have some rust here and there and could use a repaint but still looks ok as a 20 footer. Vista rides on 15x7 ET wheels and BFG white letters with many miles left. Car has dual exhaust and has a great tone without being loud...not obnoxious at all. Power rear tailgate window works from dash switch and key switch on door. I have lots of documentation from previous owner from NC with years of inspection receipts and photos of car when he had it repainted several years ago. Asking price is $6195...this car has good bones and can be driven as is but needs some TLC...and when is the last time you saw one? Not interested in trades. Open to reasonable offers. Email or text anytime. If calling please leave a message and contact info if seriously interested. Thanks for looking.

ALLAN R--can you explain more about the J and M code on the Vistas, does that mean factory dual exhaust with the true dual ex manifiolds??..??and is that for factory 455 cars?? thought I knew my 442's and Olds's but vistas are a diff game..This car does have duals that exit the back side quarters..
I recently found one after "3 YEARS OF LOOKING"...and it was over 3,000 miles away orig from New Mexico and then CA..had it shipped here to PA last week..
I can tell you this with no exagerations---it is harder to find a decent Vista than it is a w30, 442, or convertible with the below options..
My requirements were this: had to be a 1970, had to be a Vista Cruiser with the roof glass, a factory 455 car, with air conditioning, and had to have the optional 3 rd row seat...combine those on a list and its darn near the only one ive ever seen ..and that wasn't $29,000..
its a solid car in pretty good shape for the age and I plan to put a neat spin on it- and drive the whole darn family around in it to the beach and soccer games , shows etc..lol!! will be fun

If you are still looking
I have a 1970 vista, gold, 3rd row seat, a.c., minimal rust, good interior. I won't spend a lot of time with description unless there is any interest. I'm in process of rebuilding the heads as valve seals were bad. Interior is in great shape, no rips or tears. Original 120, 212 miles. Some dings on side. Factory color. $8000
