70 442 convertible for sale

Decided to sell our 70 convertible. Pretty much an original survivor with a few partial spot sprays here and there that I can tell.

Matching number car..sorry, I can't find the build sheet or protecto plate anywhere!

Overall it's in very good condition but does have some minor rust on the bottom side of the front quarters to the rear of the front tires...and the dash at the windshield junction is rusted.

You guys all know your values, feel free to make an offer.

You can pm me, email at cp870@***.net or call at (602)697-6462

I moved your thread to the cars for sale classifieds. It would be best to include an asking price.

I think that is just from the focal length of the camera lens distorting the photo (at least I hope as the driveway has the same look). Look at the taillights, they have the silver trim outline which Supremes are supposed to have but not 442s. I see this vary on 442 convertibles all the time. I've never gotten a "for sure" answer which is correct. Though I'm willing to guess it was a detail not really followed all that well on the assembly line.

I was referring to the number spacing. Something obviously happened with the deck lid at some point because all of the other numbers on the car look to be correct. With the wrong lenses this is leaning me towards a rear ender at some point in the cars life, but this is just speculation, hence why I asked the question.

I saw that too Eric. As far as the tail light lenses, correct for a Supreme.
But this vert is based off a Supreme body, or so it seems. They may be the correct ones.

The 442 spacing is obviously off! I took it to my paint guy who said that the lid was reshot at one time..and they didn't put the badges on correctly.

Selling it to fund a big block 68 California Special I just bought..

Isn't that the rarest engine for these cars?

It's very rare, but not as valuable as an S or K code would be..

There wasn't a K-code in '68.

You may want to research this some more because I think the X is the rarest of the bunch.

ADDENDUM: I'm prob was thinking the X-code HCS was the rarest of all engines, but this site says 76 X-code CSs, and I think about

No it doesn't. I actually think it was an ac delete because the two cents in the middle of the dash are missing, there's only a faux plastic plate there but the side cents are in place for heat etc..
