1970 Cutlass Supreme Convertible w 442 badging, 445 engine, Orange Cnty CA
Lowered price 11-13-2015 to $18000
The perfect project car!
455 cu. in. V-8 engine, Edelbrock Manifold, headers, dual exhaust, automatic transmission, power steering, power top with glass window. White with blue racing stripes, gold interior. Recently rebuilt engine, all new wiring from the firewall forward, new steering box/ ball joints. Freshly tuned and safety checked.
History: Dad bought the car about 10 years ago. He enjoyed puttering with it and taking it to local car shows. He kept it garaged and babied it. His health started declining, so he decided to sell the car. As he got it ready for one last car show, some fuel caught fire and damaged the wiring and hood before he got it under control. Dad is gone now, and we have had the damage in the engine compartment repaired. It now has a new Holley 4 barrel Dual Feed carburetor, new alternator and HEI distributor. All wires replaced with a custom made harness. The hood has been replaced with a fiberglass replica. I was unhappy with the body shop's progress and did not have them put the blue paint trim on the hood. It runs great, and the transmission shifts smoothly. California car, there is no significant rust and the body is straight, the upholstery, top, and chrome trim are all in good condition. It needs cosmetic fixes, things you can do while still driving it
Other notes: it has air conditioner controls and wiring but no compressor. Dad put in a modern stereo, but the face plate is lost. Front seat belts are racing belts. New belts in back. The odometer reads 19000, I don't know how many times it has turned over. VIN is for a Cutlass Supreme. 455 cu. in. Engine Block is 396021Fa, which indicates it was built in '72-'76. Reasonable offers will be considered, I am not in a hurry, but will lower the asking price as time goes by.
