Doesn't look like a 71 442. Looks like a 72 Cutlass Supreme vert. What's the VIN?

I moved your post to your very own classified thread. Lets not hijack others threads in the future. Good luck with your sale.

Those are 72 Cutlass Supreme grills for sure. Maybe it is a 71 442 and the grills have been changed. The VIN will tell the story.

Glenn, that's why I asked. Also to fit the 72 grills the radiator support had to be changed or modified significantly to accept the forward position of the grills. Headlight bezels are from a 71 though. I would love to see a side profile pic of the car too.

Good eye. Just noticed the W25 hood is also missing the rear cowl stainless and is sitting unusually high at the back. Usually an indicator of an aftermarket hood + hood pins instead of factory hold downs. Headlight bezels are on wrong too - easy fix, just turn them over 180°.

A side view would tell the story in a hurry. It is hard to tell but the roof looks like it could be a Supreme which would eliminate it from being a 442. The OP has not responded.

I believe the 442 did not have the body side moldings in 72 like the Cutlass did. I am not sure about 71. My bad on the roof. I need to pay a little more attention. It's not like the OP didn't point that out.

Glenn, that's why I asked if we could see a side profile of the car. None of the 442 models had rocker stainless or body side moldings. I looked at the moldings around the grill and on the hood - they're definitely ridged like 72, grills are 72 CS and stone shield emblem is 72 rocket. Headlight bezels are 71, mirrors are 70, and the OP says it's a 71. Kind of like a frankencar on the front end. I also noted that the right side headlight bezel only has one screw holding it on, and the right side signal lens is broken. Just observations, but they make me question what year it really is - 71 or 72? If it's a 71 442, the VIN will start 34467.... It should also have a 455, unlike 72 when the engine availability slipped to include all the 350's and U/X code engines.

Allan:

Maybe we will hear from the OP. Since he says it needs TLC, it would be interesting to see some details of the car. This was only his second post so who knows.

Glenn, of course you're right. Sometimes folks have something that has been represented incorrectly to them at time of sale and they innocently pass that along? Maybe the OP doesn't know where hiis posts are. It was jacked onto 2 other threads. Eric only uncovered this one and gave it it's own thread. A lot of newbies get lost on this site and do stuff like that. Probably why we haven't heard back.
