1963 Olds 98 Custom Sport Coupe

I'm new to this site. Does anyone know how I can find the average value of my CSC? its complete and in very easily restorable condition. I'm just trying to decide if I want to restore it myself and drive it for a summer or just sell it and let someone else so it. Thanks for any incite.

Not knowing the plusses and minuses of your car as far as condition makes it hard to determine value. Here is the Nada Classic car listing. Be advised, not many of these get sold every month so use the value listed with a grain of salt.

Keep in mind, first of all, that "very easily restorable condition" is a highly subjective comment. Everyone has their own idea of the ease or difficulty of a restoration.

The better thing for you to do is describe in detail the car's pluses and minuses, and include some photos. Pictures are worth 1000 words generally and 2000 words in the old car hobby.

This being said, there are price guides out there. oldcutlass lists one, but the NADA guide tends to be very high compared to most other guides and very high compared to the actual experiences of people who sell cars.

One price guide, Collector Car Market Review, is online.

From your limited description, I'm assuming your car is between #3 and #4 condition (you can look up how these conditions are defined at the website above). That would put its value somewhere in the $5,000 range.

The Old Cars Price Guide, which is not available online, agrees with this. In their #4 condition, which means runs and drives but needs complete restoration, a '63 98 Custom Sports Coupe has a value of about $4,700.

Keep in mind that buyers for these cars do not grow on trees, and to realize these values in a selling price might take some time.

One question: if the car is such a simple restoration, why not restore it yourself?

1963 ninety eight custom sports coupe

Gidday from Downunder (Australia)!
I've just bought a 98 CSC which has a Starfire motor as per the engine number and casting numbers on the block but it's not red.... seems to be original paint as the car has 60,000 miles on the clock.
See pics attached.
Maybe someone can solve this mystery...
Thanks, kind regards, Grant
